Part common sense, part mechanical marvel, an AMP Research invention tends to be one of those ‘why didn’t I think of that?’ Ideas that seem like total no-brainers. In fact, it’s the simple solution to complex problems that have eluded Mankind throughout history, and are the hardest answers to think up. Finding the simple, functional solution to a complex design challenge is the goal of every AMP Research innovation. As Albert Einstein said,“Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.”
PRINCIPLES
In the spirit of competition and in the interest of furthering design innovation, AMP Research voluntarily publishes select patent publications from its U.S. Patent portfolio. AMP requests that you respect our research and design effort by avoiding any activity that may infringe AMP’s intellectual property rights.
Thomas Edison remarked that invention is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. But before there’s either, there’s observation. The eyes of everyone at AMP Research are trained to look at everyday life, and envision new products that prove themselves in the marketplace.
AMP Research is a problem-solving resource to the automotive industry with an environment created to nurture innovative thinking. The AMP Research Process:
Define needs
Assume nothing
Less is more
Use and abuse
THE SCIENCE OF SWEAT
AMP Research isn’t just a design, development and engineering center. This 40,000 square foot facility located in Irvine, California, employs flexible manufacturing and assembly lines to produce AMP products for both automotive OEM and aftermarket customers.

What does ISO 9001 Certified mean?
To become ISO 9001 Certified, a company must institute management systems which meet international standards of manufacturing quality and then have their procedures approved by a team of independent auditors.
So, what is the meaning behind the lingo?
ISO - is an abbreviation for the ‘International Organization for Standardization.’ Located in Geneva, Switzerland, the ISO was created to promote standards development and facilitate the international exchange of goods and services. More than 90 countries including the United States belong to the ISO.
9001 - is the most rigorous ISO conformance standard. 9001 covers the quality system from design through production to servicing at the customer’s site.
Certified - means that an independent team of auditors has verified that a company follows the ISO procedures. It can take 18 months and several attempts to achieve certification. ISO certifies a company’s process, not their products. ISO 9001 certification is not permanent; an outside team audits procedures every six months. Quality must be maintained to keep certification.
